ASUU Vow’ to deal with Lecturers in River state-owned University if they resume lectures on campus.

The National President of Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) ; Mr. Abiodun Ogunyemi, stated this while reacting to the directive of the Rivers State Government that tertiary institutions, secondary and vocational schools to reopen on Monday, October 5. 


“During his interview with Nigeria Info ‘Radio 92.3’, in Port Harcourt , he stated that; 

“We haven't exempted any branch of the union from the ongoing strike and any Lecturers in Rivers State-owned University who resume lectures on campus, will be dealt with.”

“Any branch that does that will be violating our directives and what we do in such situations is to take them through our procedure and apply appropriate sanctions”

According to Uzo Onyebinama,  who is the Port Harcourt Zonal Coordinator of ASUU;

“Although the unions in Rivers State universities were on suspension for previously flouting the order of strike, so he didn't expect the members to resume classes.”
